About Me

My photo
Welcome! This blog is where I post a selection of what I do. So what do I do? Well, a lot. That's what makes this so tricky. But I'm going to try to make it good. I'd love to hear what you think! Blessed be, and enjoy. If you want to know more about me, or how this came to be, I recommend you read this: http://thessalders.blogspot.nl/2014/02/a-new-chapter.html

Moving forward one step at a time...

Relocating old work and uploading new work turns out to be a lot of work.

Who would've thought, huh?

Rest assured, I'm working on it. Translating texts to English, changing some links, it's all pretty simple work. So soon this blog will be much better filled. So bear with me.

It's a work in progress.

So here's a thought:This world is not going to stay as it is.

-This has been posted on a Facebook page before. If you're thinking about screaming plagiarism, don't. The page (TimeforahumanLife) is mine, and I am the author of this piece-

So here's a thought:

This world is not going to stay as it is.

We remember the past, but we don't remember the future.
Therefore, it's easy to feel as if all of history has led up to what we're doing now. We evolved into the beings that we are now. We built the world around us into what it is now. It's easy to feel as if we've reached some sort of finish line.
As if this is what the world is. Schools as we know them, jobs as we know them, stores as we know them, etc...
Over time, these have been created, and most of us, who have only been in this world for so short a period of time, don't know much else.
This is what we built, this is how it now is, and it's here to stay. Solid as a rock.
Right?
Well, no.

500 years ago, people will have felt the exact same way. The world had grown into what it was then, they were at a peak in evolution, in a prime, and even though new inventions and minor improvements could be made, the system that was in place was there to stay, because it was how the world worked, and nobody knew any different.

We, now, know that it has changed. We have different countries. Countries are ruled differently. We have a completely different view of our universe. Rather than trading products, currencies play a much greater role in our lives, so we look at material things differently. So many things are changed.

And I'll guarantee you now, that 500 years from now, the world will look very different indeed. That much is certain. The question is, what will it have changed into?
I can't tell you. Nobody can. What I can tell you, is that it's something worth thinking about now, because people are going to play an enormous part in guiding that change.
